Medicine and Health Sciences Library
The Medicine and Health Sciences Library is one of four branch libraries of the Library and Information Service and is situated on the Tygerberg campus in Parow, in the Education Building of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. The library's opening hours are adjusted according to the requirements of the academic year.
We serve
- Researchers, lecturers, staff and registered students of the different departments, centres and units of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences
- Staff members of the Provincial Administration of the Western Cape (PAWC), affiliated with the Tygerberg and Stikland hospitals
- Radiologists, dieticians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, general practitioners and nursing staff
- Staff of the Western Province Nursing College; staff of Louis Leipoldt and Karl Bremer hospitals
The following clients are also eligible for borrowing privileges:
Ukwanda Clinical Outreach
Designated professional health care staff assisting students of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences working in communities which form part of Ukwanda Clinical Outreach. Contact us to make arrangements for membership and access to the library after hours.
This membership provides on-campus services only, including lending privileges of 3 books for 2 weeks.
Elective students
Visit the information desk in the library to register as a member to enable use of library services.
