We offer isiXhosa for all. There are modules for beginners who have no background in any African language, for those who have studied a Nguni language at school, and for mother-tongue speakers of isiXhosa.

The aim of these modules that run from first to third year is to develop communication skills in isiXhosa. The modules are geared towards social communication and everyday situations, which are applicable to any career choice. We also introduce students to Xhosa culture and isiXhosa literature and linguistics.

FOR THOSE WHO STUDIED AN AFRICAN LANGUAGE UP TO MATRIC AND CAN SPEAK ISIXHOSA FLUENTLY

These modules that run from first to third year entail the study of the linguistics and literature of isiXhosa. We use authentic isiXhosa material from magazines, newspapers, radio and television programs to teach our students the nuances of the language.
