The Department of Curriculum Studies at Stellenbosch University is at the forefront of reimagining education through innovative curriculum design and rigorous research. We shape learning experiences across a spectrum of subjects, from languages and mathematics to sciences, grounding our work in the Curriculum Assessment Policy Statements (CAPS). This approach has provided us with notable achievements that have real world benefits, such as the development of MobiLex, a multilingual terminology tool that simplifies complex concepts for undergraduate students.
Our approach blends disciplinary insights with practical applications, driving improvements in classroom instruction and student performance. By actively integrating diverse perspectives and emphasising sustainable educational practices, our department sets new benchmarks in curriculum development and contributes to meaningful educational reform.
