Contact information
Stellenbosch University Library and Information Service invites you to the 7th webinar in the #BeOpenAccessSmart series.
This session, facilitated by Dr Andiswa Mfengu (University of Cape Town, South Africa), will explore approaches to assessing and incentivising Open Access. It will examine how Open Access publishing can be leveraged to advance equity, inclusion, and integrity in science, and to narrow the information access divide between the Global South and the Global North.
The session will also consider the role of research assessment and research integrity within the Open Access publishing model — issues that remain central to the Open Access movement as institutions worldwide continue to refine how they assess, recognise, and reward Open Access scholarship.
Date: 17 September 2026, 12:00-13:00 (SAST)
