Stellenbosch University International (SUI) regularly welcomes international visitors and delegations from various institutions and organisations to our Stellenbosch campus throughout the year. We can help to plan your visit with the relevant academics and/or administrative staff as per the primary purpose of your visit.

These include:

  • Presentations by, and meetings with, university administrators and academics
  • Visits to institutes, centres, and labs
  • Campus tours for delegates

     

Please Note:  December and January fall within SU's summer break where the possibility for visits may be limited

A Visit from Universidad de los Andes, Colombia: 26 June 2026

On 26 June 2026, Stellenbosch University (SU) welcomed Prof Paula Jaramillo from the Economics Department at Universidad de Los Andes (UniAndes), and Head of Teaching for TREES (Teaching and Researching Equitable Economics from the South).

The purpose of this visit was to discuss collaborative activities aimed at further strengthening the existing comprehensive partnership between the two institutions who are Global Partners of the EUTOPIA Alliance. Key areas and topics of discussion included collaborative efforts between both universities' Economics Departments, summer school exchanges, workshop offerings, and shared funding opportunities.

During the visit, Prof Jaramillo engaged with representatives from the SU Department of Economics, including Prof Dieter von Fintel (Vice-Dean for Research, Postgraduate Affairs and Internationalisation), Prof Sophia Du Plessis (Head of Department of Economics), and Prof Johan Fourie (Director: Laboratory for the Economics of Africa's Past (LEAP) and Chair of Economics, History, and Policy). The visit also included a campus tour and engagement at SU International with Ms Sarah van der Westhuizen (Director: Centre for Global Collaboration) and Ms Keshia Arendse (Coordinator: Comprehensive Partnership Portfolio).
