Student Accommodation

Accommodation plays a key role in helping students succeed at university. A variety of options are available, including over 30 on-campus residences on the Stellenbosch campus and five on Tygerberg campus, as well as accredited private housing for those who prefer to live off-campus.

Residences are structured to promote a sense of belonging, with spaces for both privacy and social connection. Students live in single or double rooms depending on their year of study and residence placement. Each residence is supported by a residential head, house committee and mentors who help new students settle in.

Our Work

The Division has the following focus areas

Accommodation services provide safe and functional living environments that support both academic and personal growth. Each residence has unique facilities such as communal kitchens, laundry rooms, shared bathrooms, study areas and social spaces. High-speed internet connectivity, storage options and security measures are standard across most facilities.

For students living privately, accredited off-campus housing is available. Landlords must meet the University’s guidelines for private student accommodation, ensuring safety and quality standards are upheld.
