Our clients

At the heart of our Human Resources Client-centric service model are our clients: the Rectorate, environments, line managers, staff, and external stakeholders. We are committed to understanding their unique needs and delivering responsive, professional, and value-adding Human Resources support. Our approach is designed to foster meaningful relationships and provide people-centred services that enable institutional excellence through strategic alignment.

Human Resources Centres of Excellence

Our agile, future-fit Centres of Excellence are shaped by the evolving higher education landscape, national and global trends, legislative frameworks, and institutional priorities. These expert teams lead strategy, policy and process development, and drive capability building across all Human Resources domains. Their work enables Human Resources Business Partners to deliver relevant, agile support and solutions to their respective client environments. By equipping our Business Partners with the correct policies, strategies and training interventions, the Centres of Excellence help ensure that Stellenbosch University continues to grow as a people-centred institution, ready to meet evolving challenges.

Human Resources Client Partnering

Our Human Resources Business Partners are embedded within the University’s environments, serving as strategic talent leaders and trusted advisors.  As the first line of support, they are deeply immersed in their client environments, offering tailored solutions and implementing offerings developed by the Human Resources Centres of Excellence. With a deep understanding of each environment’s unique requirements, they provide guidance across the full Human Resources value chain. As the face and heart of Human Resources, our Business Partners enable, guide and position our clients for success through a balanced approach that integrates strategic priorities, compliance, agility and innovation.

Human Resources Shared Services

Our Human Resources Shared Services team underpins the HR Client-centric service model by delivering efficient, accurate, and client-friendly administrative support. They manage transactional workflows, provide timely information, and advise on administrative processes. Their reliable and responsive operations ensure seamless service delivery and operational excellence, allowing Human Resources Business Partners and Centres of Excellence to focus on strategic engagement and institutional impact.
