Division for Research Development

Responsible for the advancement, facilitation, and support of research at Stellenbosch University, the Division for Research Development (DRD) is dedicated to creating an enabling environment where research excellence can thrive. Our offerings include facilitating the sourcing and management of research funding, including research funding generated through industry and other external partnerships. 

We manage all SU’s research and research-related contracts with external partners. We are responsible for the formulation and implementation of policies ensuring local and international research ethics compliance while promoting research integrity and ethical research conduct of SU staff and students. Our division supports the capacity development of researchers and postgraduate students, manages postdoctoral fellows and postgraduate students and the management and application of institutional research-related information and data. Through communication and engagement initiatives, we increase the visibility of SU’s research and its impact.
