Dr Marnel Mouton is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Botany and Zoology at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. She has a PhD in Microbiology and currently teaches Biology to various cohorts of undergraduate students studying degree programmes in Science, AgriSciences and Health Sciences. She is the coordinator of the Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP) for the Faculties of Science, AgriScience and Engineering at Stellenbosch University. These roles led to her keen interest and research projects in evaluating and addressing issues in STEM education, such as bridging the articulation gap between school and first year in higher education.
