To remain relevant and knowledgeable across relevant corruption subject matter ACCERUS strives to be appropriately expert in:
- High levels of education and training supported by rigorous research.
- The internal workings and circumstances of government institutions. (Here ACCERUS benefits greatly from the experience the SPL has accumulated through its many years of interaction with, and study of, government organisations and their officials)
CENTRE FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT
The CLG will seek to:
- Provide opportunities for world class research on local and provincial government challenges, locally, nationally, in Africa and internationally.
- Be a repository for access to state of the art resources and a knowledge hub for local government academics, researchers, officials, councillors and non-governmental agencies.
- Provide opportunities for learning and growth and to develop a new generation of though leaders in the field of local government.
Centres
The SGGF, an initiative situated within Stellenbosch University (SU) is a knowledge and learning forum associated with the School of Public Leadership (SPL) at SU. The SGGF promotes better governance through inclusive innovation and knowledge-based implementation.
TsamaHub, The Centre is an academic structure established to facilitate and coordinate the Doctoral Programme as well as to engage all the relevant knowledge-holding stakeholders with a view to conduct applied solution-based sustainability research in the Stellenbosch area.

CST, The Centre for Complex Systems in Transition (CST) is the hub of the Stellenbosch University NRF Flagship Initiative, and was established in 2015. The CST is a research and training centre that draws together researchers, students and practitioners interested in complexity thinking, sustainability and transdisciplinarity.
