Student Societies

Student societies form a key part of student life on the Tygerberg campus. They create space for students to build connections, develop leadership skills and contribute to the broader campus community. From service-based groups to cultural, faith and academic societies, each one offers opportunities to collaborate, organise events, and explore shared interests. The Tygerberg Societies Council supports these societies by coordinating registrations, facilitating resources and encouraging inclusive participation.

Our Work

The Division has the following focus areas

The Tygerberg Societies Council represents a wide range of student-led societies that shape campus culture through social impact projects, faith-based activities, academic forums and awareness campaigns. Many societies partner with local organisations to extend their work beyond campus. Through initiatives such as the annual Society Showcase and student dialogue sessions, societies play an active role in shaping a supportive and engaged campus environment.
