Academic Support

Academic Support offers a range of services to help students succeed in their studies and develop holistically during their time at the University. The service supports learning through co-curricular support, tutoring and career guidance, while also providing access to mental health screenings and referrals. 

Whether students need help with time management or navigating the transition into university life, Academic Support offers tools and personalised guidance to help them stay on track and reach their goals.

Our Work

The Division has the following focus areas

The Academic Support office works closely with students in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, providing tailored academic advice and referrals. Support is available through one-on-one appointments, peer-led initiatives and collaboration with faculty staff. By helping students manage workload, improve study strategies and plan for their future, the team plays a key role in student wellbeing and academic success.

Personalised academic support from trained senior students in high-risk or complex modules

Tutor-Mentor Programme

A peer-academic support system where senior students (MenTuts) mentor first- and second-year students through their academic and clinical transitions Students are encouraged to make appointments directly with the Academic Advisor or may be referred by academic staff.
