Department of Health Professions Education

Preparing the next generation of industry experts

At Stellenbosch University’s Department of Health Professions Education (DHPE), we have evolved into a leading force for excellence in the field. The DHPE strives to stimulate and promote the scholarship of teaching and learning in the Health Sciences by working with those involved in teaching, in whatever form, across the faculty.

Our goal is the promotion of quality teaching through the provision of meaningful learning opportunities for our students. A key premise for all our work is that it be evidence-based and to this end we engage in and provide support for health professions education research both within the faculty and through national and international networks.
