​Super-resolution microscopy – SR-SIM 

Sample: Neuronal cells 

Instrument: ZEISS LSM780 with ELYRA PS1 

The confocal microscope is also equipped with two super-resolution platforms, SR SIM and PALM/STORM. Here SR SIM was used to capture an image of a neuronal cell which was stained to display mitochondria (pink) and mitochondrial DNA (orange), with autophagosomes (green) distributed amongst these organelles and the nucleus in blue at much higher resolution compared to confocal microscopy
