About Us

Our Beneficiary Interaction Strategies

At TRAC, our beneficiary interaction is designed to do more than improve marks — we open doors to sustainable opportunities. Through focused academic intervention in Mathematics and Physical Science, we strengthen subject mastery, deepen conceptual understanding, and improve examination readiness for Grade 11 and 12 learners.

Each of our highly qualified facilitators is assigned to five high schools, visiting each school for a full day during the week to provide structured, DBE curriculum-aligned support. Our teaching approach enhances classroom learning through additional methodologies, including workbooks, practical experiments, videos, and simulations, helping learners grasp abstract concepts with greater confidence and clarity. On the day of each school visit, facilitators also conduct dedicated afternoon classes to address challenging concepts and provide targeted support to struggling learners.

Over weekends and during school holidays, learners participate in intensive intervention and vacation programmes. These uninterrupted sessions allow for focused revision, consolidation of key concepts, and thorough examination preparation — particularly critical during Grade 12.

In Grade 12, our support expands beyond academics. Each beneficiary completes an interest assessment and participates in an individual guidance interview to align career aspirations with academic performance. Learners are assisted in applying to at least three suitable tertiary institutions, with TRAC monitoring application outcomes through direct liaison with institutions.

Recognising that financial barriers often prevent access to higher education, TRAC provides hands-on support with tertiary funding applications, ensuring qualifying learners have the best possible opportunity to secure funding.

Beyond Grade 12, TRAC continues to walk its beneficiaries on their journey by assisting with tertiary registration, mentorship, and ongoing support to help students remain focused and succeed in their studies.

By integrating academic excellence, career alignment, tertiary access, and funding opportunities, TRAC ensures that talented learners are not only prepared to qualify for university but fully equipped to enter, sustain, and complete their higher education journey.

Our Alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The core business of TRAC is to advocate and promote a country without poverty. The achievement of this goal is driven by the mechanisms of quality education and strategic partnerships.  TRAC’s focus is holistic and integrates the common interests of all its stakeholders in accomplishing these goals.  TRAC’s goals are therefore aligned with three Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

SDG No Poverty

The South African poverty headcount ratio at the upper-bound poverty line was reported at 55.5% in 2015. This implies that 30.5 million South Africans lived on less than R992 per month. Children (aged 17 years and younger), black Africans, females, people from rural areas, those living in the Eastern Cape and Limpopo, and those with little or no education are the main victims of the ongoing struggle against poverty.

Through relevant successful tertiary studies, TRAC learners become economically contributing citizens in meaningful positions in SA, thereby breaking the bonds of poverty in their lineage.

SDG Equal Education

Challenges in delivering quality education deny many learners access to employment, reduce the earnings potential and career mobility of those who do get jobs – and limit the potential dynamism of South African business.

Through quality education, utilising cutting-edge technology, and effective didactic methodologies, TRAC learners’ academic performance is not only improved but their understanding of abstract concepts is enhanced, improving their ability to reason and argue academically. Educators are empowered through co-facilitation with TRAC educators.

SDG Strategic Partnerships

Silo operations by stakeholders in the education sector imply that South Africa is not delivering an adequately skilled and relevant workforce able to contribute to the country’s economy.

Through tripartite partnerships between TRAC, companies, and the Department of Basic Education, a holistic, combined approach is taken to improving the quality of education.  The combined goal of such partnerships is to drive sufficient academic performance to ensure successful access to funded tertiary studies.
