Journey of the Soul

 

A concert of music that centres around musical storytelling, underpinned by the mystical elements of fantasy, for clarinet, cello, and piano. Journey of the Soul invites audience members to tap deep into their imagination while the ensemble delivers an array of moods, scenery, personas, and a spectrum of emotions that composers Schumann, Muczynski, and Brahms skilfully created for this combination. Featuring a variety of styles that serve the theme of fantasy, this recital takes listeners on a soulful journey – from dreamy introspection to rhythmic vitality, melancholic lyricism to dramatic textural contrasts, and lush harmonies that remind us of our shared humanity.
