Simulation-based design of circular economy solutions
This short course, presented by international expert Prof Markus Reuter, explores the role of stakeholders in the circular economy and how system efficiency can be quantified through exergy analysis. Using HSC Sim in an interactive format, participants will develop digital twins of recycling systems, covering physical separation, pyro- and hydrometallurgy, residue processing, and energy recovery. The course introduces tools such as HSC Sim, life cycle assessment, and AI-assisted optimisation to evaluate recyclability and environmental footprints.
