Endocrinology

The Division of Endocrinology has emerged as a trusted leader in managing and researching obesity, diabetes, osteoporosis and general endocrinology. Our journey began with a visionary leader who established the Endocrine Unit, and we quickly made our mark by pioneering South Africa’s first DXA scanner for bone density. We have since developed an integrated endocrine care model that bridges multidisciplinary clinical services with translational research, setting new benchmarks in patient care and treatment innovation.

Our commitment to hands-on teaching and mentorship continues to inspire the next generation of endocrinologists, ensuring that every patient receives the most comprehensive, evidence-based care possible.
